Be Proud Tasmania

Around 20 people marched behind the Be Proud Tasmania banner and without a doubt we were proud Tasmanians. Everyone wore their Be Proud t-shirts on which they had personalised the slogan “Stop discrimination by………”

Our group represented those from the LGBTI community, their friends and family members (and a dog!) with each one looking equally as proud.  As we marched along Murray St people clapped, waved, whistled, took photos and clearly supported the message we were delivering. The dog barked and howled the whole way making his support known!

It was wonderful to see Cassy O’Connor and Rodney Croome giving their speeches wearing the t-shirts they had personalised the week before at the launch of Be Proud Tasmania. It truly felt like we had all united to Be Proud Tasmania.
