    Please note that there may be times when these groups do not operate for various reasons. Please contact us to confirm that the group you are interested in is indeed active.

     

    South

    Pop-In on Fridays! - Every second Friday from 9:30-11am all LGBTI+ people and friends are invited to pop-in to the Working It Out lounge, 278 Argyle St, North Hobart, for a cuppa, a chat, and generally hang out in a safe and welcoming space. There are occasional themed sessions for special days, eg IDAHOBIT.

    Gender Identity peer support & discussion - First Tuesday of the month from 5:30-7:30pm in the Working It Out lounge, 278 Argyle St, North Hobart.

    OUTspace - peer support group for sexuality, gender diverse, and intersex young people, in partnership with headspace Hobart. Meeting on the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month from 4-5:30pm, at WIO (278 Argyle St, North Hobart), with gatherings consisting of activities either on site or elsewhere around Hobart, and informal chats about life as a rainbow young person.

    Peer Support Group for Parents of LGBTI children

    Share, Connect, Support and Grow - meeting from 5:30-7pm, on the third Tuesday of each month.

    Peer support for Partners of Trans and Non-Binary Folks

    Is your partner negotiating their gender identity? This can sometimes be a confusing and isolating time for partners, so the group is aimed at supporting and connecting partners in a safe space so that they can share experiences, support each other, discuss topics that they want to discuss, share information and resources, explore strategies and build capacity to increase their own well-being and that of their families.

    The group meets on the first Thursday of each month, from 5:30-7pm. Contact anna@workingitout.org.au or 6231 1200 for more information.

    Allsorts - Peer support group for same-sex attracted and gender diverse/questioning young people aged between 14 and 25, from 4-5:30pm on the third Thursday of every month.

    "The first group I went to was in Launceston... about a week after I came out. I didn’t know where to go to meet people until I came across the Allsorts group. It felt good to be there and talk with other people and start to form networks of queer people, which is something I hadn’t done before."

    "I didn’t know anyone when I first went but after a while I got to know so many people and there’s been so many opportunities to make friends. That’s been a very positive experience. It’s so important because it’s really easy for Tasmanians to feel isolated. I experience that up here in Devonport. It gets really isolated and can be really hard. The Devonport group was really helpful..."
