Simone-Lisa Guest Appearance on "The I In Us" on Joy 94.9 FM
Simone-Lisa, Working It Out’s - Better Lives Project Officer, will be on “The I in Us” radio this Thursday night (30th June) 6-7pm JOY94.9 FM.
How much can one intersex advocate achieve in just seven years. Whether by stealth or breaking down doors, Simone-lisa Anderson has transformed Tasmania’s intersex awareness landscape through education and representation.
Whether running in-services to hundreds of recipients or sitting on government and health boards and committees, Simone-lisa has been at the forefront of intersex advocacy and now, following in the footsteps of the ACT, Victoria, and, depending on who achieves this magnificent milestone first, NSW, Australia’s smallest state is approaching the introduction of legislation to protect intersex community members from medically unnecessary surgeries.
This week Simone-lisa will be our guest on The I in Us to discuss her ongoing work to educate Tasmanians, and the road to legislation. We will also take a moment to celebrate this month’s fifth birthday of Australia’s longest-running intersex education program – Better Lives.
Please join us to welcome Simone-lisa back to The I in Us this Thursday 30 July 6-7pm AEST via JOY94.9, iHeartRadio or the JOY apps.
You can also join the conversation via the JOY94.9 apps or by texting (+61) 0427 JOY (569) 949 or emailing onair@joy.org.au... and please do; we love to hear from our listeners, and so do our guests.
