SUMMARY:Crafternoons- Online Only
DESCRIPTION:Crafternoons Online Only\n\n\n\nWIO Crafternoons are a space for anyone over 18 from the LGBTQIA+ community (allies are also welcome) to come and hang out in a chill space and be creative 😊 \n\n\n\nThe 1st Friday of each month is an in-person/online hybrid event\, and the 3rd Friday is online-only. Our in-person Crafternoons are held at the North Hobart office (278 Argyle Street). \n\n\n\nFor our in-person events\, you’re welcome to bring your own arts & crafts supplies\, or you can use the bits and bobs we have here (colouring books\, paper\, pencils\, origami paper etc.)\, and all skill levels are welcome 🙂 \n\n\n\nAccessibility info for in-person Crafternoons: \n\n\n\n\nWhilst the building is generally wheelchair accessible for manual wheelchairs\, unfortunately the crafternoon space will probably be a bit tricky to navigate\, especially if we have a lot of people 🙁\n\n\n\nThere’s one disability/accessible car spot at the back for anyone who needs to be dropped off/picked up\n\n\n\nWe have an accessible toilet for people to use\n\n\n\nIt’s a food-free space\, but people can eat outside the room if need-be i.e. in the kitchen area\n\n\n\nYou don’t have to have your camera or mic on if you’re attending online\n\n\n\nYou don’t have to stay for the whole 2 hours\, and can also turn up partway through\n\n\n\nYou’re welcome to take breaks if you need to\, and for people attending in person\, the front room with the comfy couches should be free if anyone needs a break from the socialising for a bit 🙂\n\n\n\nWe’ll have an air filter in the room\, and you can wear a mask if you feel more comfortable (I usually wear one as well)\n\n\n\n\n* Also\, if you’re coming in-person\, you’ll be visible on the webcam for people attending online\, but I hide it from our view\, so that you won’t be staring at yourself – please consider whether you feel comfortable with this before attending. Crafternoons are never recorded\, but I want to give people a heads up about being visible on a webcam \n\n\n\nIf you have any accessibility-related enquiries\, need more info\, need the link for attending online\, or would like to join the mailing list\, please contact Kai at kai@workingitout.org.au 😊

DESCRIPTION:KING KARAOKE: THE FLANNIE PARTY (NIGE’S B’DAY EDITION!) Thought you knew how to karaoke? Think again\, folks. If you haven’t experienced a King Karaoke night yet\, you haven’t lived. Run by your favourite self-proclaimed local legends\, drag kings Barry & Gary\, we don’t just host the night – the boyz are here to party. This karaoke\, we are taking over The Welcome Swallow Brewery for an absolute winter ripper\, and we’ve got a massive milestone to celebrate. It’s Nigel’s Birthday Weekend!   IMPORTANT BULLETIN: Take note\, crew—we are taking over The Welcome Swallow Brewery on a FRIDAY night this time\, NOT our usual Saturday! The brewery is closed on Saturday the 18th for a private functionAnyone who knows Nige knows the person is a total weapon when it comes to karaoking\, humming\, and whistling. So\, in honour of our favourite farmer at heart\, we are throwing a Flannie Party! It’s freezing outside\, flannies are objectively elite\, and we want to see the venue packed with them.Come dressed in your absolute best flannie—or your absolute worst. No judgment here.Whether you want to unleash your inner rock star on the mic\, tear up the dance floor\, or just stand back with a fresh craft brew and watch the madness unfold\, we want you there. And yeah\, we all know at least one song that’s guaranteed to be on the setlist: Happy Birthday to Nige! Please note: we stop the kids singing at 8:00 PM. They are welcome to stay\, but the songs may get a little naughty after 8:00 PMWelcome Swallow Brewery99 Ring RdNew NorfolkTasmania

SUMMARY:QT Cabaret - Tribute
DESCRIPTION:QT Cabaret has become (apparently) an institution in Hobart\, having produced events for the trans and queer community for almost a decade. Our host Hera is also (really?) an institution too\, having performed and created for the queers for almost two decades. So our ever growing cohort of performative smut peddlers\, and joy spreading virtuosos\, wanted to pay tribute to her acts past\, and more importantly to QT! \n\n\n\nThe Tribute show will have a cavalcade of your favourite performers\, showing love to QT\, or taking the piss out of Hera. Bringing you drag\, cabaret\, singing\, dancing\, and in honor of mother\, probably doing something that doesn’t quite fit into those categories. \n\n\n\nSo come see us\, meet like minded people\, have a little boogie\, and enjoy what our creative little minds can throw together. This won’t be the worst show in the world\, it’ll just be a tribute. \n\n\n\nTICKETS HERE
