New Northern LGBTIQA+ School Inclusion Officer
Introducing Lovisa, Working It Out’s new Northern LGBTIQA+ School Inclusion Officer. Lovisa is originally from Sweden and moved to Tasmania in 2011. When she’s not busy working for our community or studying for a nursing degree while taking care of her two children and her dog Hazel (a Finnish Lapphund), Lovisa loves being in nature, and enjoys hiking. Lovisa is a morning person and bounces out of bed at 5:30am every day. Her go to Karaoke song is 9 to 5 by Dolly Parton.
I have experience in working with people from all walks of life, and I know what it feels like to not fit with the expectations of society. I am keen to support students, their families and school staff in creating an environment where LGBTQIA+ students are able to thrive as their authentic selves. Lovisa
Lovisa is keen to support the Northern LGBTIQA+ Community by providing 1:1 support for LGBTIQA+ folks and their families, affirmation planning for trans and gender diverse students, assistance to schools regarding LGBTIQA+ inclusion and, support with developing inclusive curriculum content. She’s also available to deliver free Professional Learning to all school staff and offer support with sexuality, sex, and gender diversity in (HPE) school Health and Physical Education classes. Lovisa can also facilitate whole school 101 and Level 2 professional learning workshops.
