Jimpa Screening for Seniors Month – WIO – Launceston

You are invited to join us for our Seniors Month screenings of Jimpa, a film based on the family of acclaimed Australian filmmaker Sophie Hyde.
Funny, accessible, full of sadness and joy, and with a wonderful multi-generational cast, Jimpa is a celebration of LGBTIQA+ culture, exploring the family we’re born into and the family we create.
The film is authentic and intimate, bursting with compassion for each of its characters, with representations of identity and family not always seen on the big screen, starring favourites Olivia Colman and John Lithgow, with newcomer Aud Mason-Hyde.
Following the film, we will be joined by a panel of lived-experience guest speakers reflecting on the themes in the film.
Together, we’ll listen to and share stories, build connections and deepen understanding across our communities. All LGBTIQA+ community members, their family and friends, allies, champions and those wanting to learn more are welcome.
Bookings are essential and tickets are $5, with flexible pricing to allow community members to attend free-of-charge through our pay-it-forward option.
