GLENORCHY – Hope Not Hate, Community Discussion – The Greens – Moonah Arts Centre

22 September @ 7:00 pm 8:30 pm

Hope Not Hate: How We Defeat the Far Right – A Community Discussion on Tuesday, 22 September at Moonah Arts Centre.

Join Deputy Leader of the Australian Greens Senator Mehreen Faruqi and Senator Nick McKim, alongside local activists and community voices, for a discussion about why the far right is gaining traction, how it builds support, and what we can do to build a stronger movement for justice, inclusion and solidarity.

Community Leaders who are speaking at the event:

  • Nala Mansell – Campaign Coordinator with the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre and a fierce defender of Aboriginal sovereignty and rights in Lutruwita.
  • Aimen Jafri – Pakistani Australian Community Lead, State Representative of Islamophobia Register Australia and Chair of the Tasmanian Islamic Foundation.
  • Phoebe Adams – Queer non-binary activist, artist, community worker, curator, designer and drag performer.

We’d love to have people from across Tasmania’s community organisations and movements in the room, and see this event as an opportunity to connect, share ideas and strengthen our collective work against bigotry, racism and division.
